Encounters an exhibition at the Art Pavilion, Mile End 27 Feb- 8 Mar 2024

Encounters will showcase artwork produced by students giving all the opportunity to exhibit work produced between the years 2023-2024.

The exhibition this year involves 13 secondary schools and one primary school across Tower Hamlets.

The Encounters exhibition will showcase artwork celebrating creativity and innovative practices in Tower Hamlets schools. In art, encounters sometimes lead to the unexpected discovery and exploration of ideas through diverse themes, styles, and techniques. Here, the artwork will seek to evoke connections and encourage viewers to engage personally.

Prizes will be awarded for KS5, KS4, KS3/2 – donated by Jackson’s (Art Supplies), University of the Arts and London Metropolitan University

As part of the exhibition, there will be a series of workshops for Tower Hamlets booked schools to encourage and develop creative thinking and arts practice for current students.

Our partners delivering workshops are:

London Metropolitan University School of Art Architecture and Design;  ‘A’ Team Arts Education; UAL insights (Central Saints Martins); Bow Arts; Whitechapel Gallery; Auto Italia; Raven Row and the Kings Foundation

All our partners above including Peer and Chisenhale Gallery will have a presence at the exhibition and will be sharing what they do.
